You’ve hunted down the flowers, making the choice between the red geraniums, the marigolds, or the Proven Winner impatiens. You took them home and planted them throughout your garden, whether in pots or directly in the ground.
Planted into place, all they need is water and you can sit back and enjoy them, right? Not really, because when the extremely hot days of August come, you may be feeling a little less enthusiastic than you did in June. So, it’s best to have your garden tools and equipment organized to keep your garden from turning into something out of the Grapes of Wrath.
It doesn’t matter whether you live in an apartment, condo, or single family house, you may still need to organize your outdoor items. Stop spending extra time searching for gardening tools, lawn equipment, and/or outside furniture. Sort like items with like items to help you find things easily.
Gardening Tools
Place all your gardening tools in one area. Set up some kind of potting station or shelving unit, so you will have all your pots, watering cans, potting soil, etc. in one place.
Lawn Equipment
Make sure the lawn mower, edger, hoses, sprinklers, etc. are all in one place (e.g., garage, shed).
Outside Furniture
Designate one area (e.g., garage, shed, basement) so it is easy to get to when you want to set it up and easy to put away when it is ready to be stored.
All you need to do right now is to sit back, relax, and enjoy the longer days of summer. The best parts are being able to barbecue and watch your flowers and plants grow.
Ready, Set, Water!!
